Our vegetables and fruits are certified USDA Organic by BCS Öko-Garantie.

How your food is grown or raised can have a major impact on your mental and emotional health as well as the environment. Organic foods often have more beneficial nutrients, such as antioxidants, than their conventionally-grown counterparts and people with allergies to foods, chemicals, or preservatives often find their symptoms lessen or go away when they eat only organic foods.

Organic produce contains fewer pesticides. Chemicals such as fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides are widely used in conventional agriculture and residues remain on (and in) the food we eat.

Organic food is often fresher because it doesn’t contain preservatives that make it last longer. They may not look as perfect as conventionally-grown ones but the other benefits have surpass this. Organic produce is often (but not always, so watch where it is from) produced on smaller farms near where it is sold.

Organic farming is better for the environment. Organic farming practices reduce pollution, conserve water, reduce soil erosion, increase soil fertility, and use less energy. Farming without pesticides is also better for nearby birds and animals as well as people who live close to farms.

Organic food is GMO-free. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) or genetically engineered (GE) foods are plants whose DNA has been altered in ways that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding, most commonly in order to be resistant to pesticides or produce an insecticide.

Most of us have an accumulated build-up of pesticide exposure in our bodies due to numerous years of exposure. This chemical “body burden” as it is medically known could lead to health issues such as headaches, birth defects, and added strain on weakened immune systems.

Some studies have indicated that the use of pesticides even at low doses can increase the risk of certain cancers, such as leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, breast cancer and prostate cancer.

Children and fetuses are most vulnerable to pesticide exposure because their immune systems, bodies, and brains are still developing. Exposure at an early age may cause developmental delays, behavioral disorders, autism, immune system harm, and motor dysfunction.

Pregnant women are more vulnerable due to the added stress pesticides put on their already taxed organs. Plus, pesticides can be passed from mother to child in the womb, as well as through breast milk.

The widespread use of pesticides has also led to the emergence of “super weeds” and “super bugs,” which can only be killed with extremely toxic poisons like 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (a major ingredient in Agent Orange).

Organic food may seem more costly than convention items. They are more labour intensive. Farmers do not use pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or drugs. Organic certification is expensive. Organic farms tend to be smaller than conventional farms, which means fixed costs and overhead must be distributed across smaller produce volumes without government subsidies.

Without the use of chemicals an organic grower must spend far more time working his crops to prevent disease and destruction by pests. He must also compost the soil properly, which usually takes a minimum of 12 months.

Also, an organic grower loses a far greater percentage of the crop than a conventional farmer.

However, the price of conventional food does not include the true costs to the community resulting from its production. The costs of health care and long-term damage to the environment are not factored into the price. One day we will all have to pay the real costs for the extensive use of chemicals.

When you consider the greater nutrition and positive environmental impact of organic foods then in real terms organic produce is cheaper than chemically grown produce.

Good quality organic produce will often look as good as the best available conventional produce, minus the harmful chemicals!

We stand by the produce we supply – if the produce has deteriorated too much to consume, we will replace or refund the item.

Sometimes you may not receive all of the produce ordered. This is because of the great difficulty obtaining certified produce at times. Weather conditions may wipe out an entire crop overnight, or rain may prevent the farmer getting the produce to market on time…not to mention seasonal shortages.

All our vegetables and fruits are certified organic. We will NEVER substitute conventional produce for unavailable certified produce. As a result if we are unable to replenish our stocks then we will either ration the produce (where possible) or you may miss out on the item. We apologise for any inconvenience that this policy may cause but we believe it is essential for us to only supply genuine organic produce

We will always try our best to inform you before hand if there are any items unavailable, however if certain produce is unavailable at the last minute, we will only be able to refund you.
